A Wreck by L.M.Robbins.
Don't leave upon
Ice-cut words.
Stop the frozen
shards of hate.
Gale force bluster,
will muster, breathtaking
punches,
that expels the wind
from our sails.
Instead, lets steady
the ship:
The wheel i'll grip,
And you grab onto the rudder.
For if we can't guide
ourselves through the rough,
we are lost to one another.
This piece is from my debut collection, Ivy.

Jaw Ache by L.M.Robbins.
That smile on the girl,
Was a red scar on her face.
Right at wrong angles,
But in the right place.
From my anthology, Spent.

Pollen by L.M.Robbins.
Sunlight licks at shaded faces.
Floppy hats,
Glints on braces.
Tans arms and legs
Of the more revealing,
Scents of summer are the
Most appealing:
Vanilla,
Lavender,
Bubblegum sweet.
Stringent hairspray,
Musky heat.
All shapely shapes.
All ranges of sizes,
All lip-licking,
All appetising.
Groin-hugging shorts,
Floral, print dresses,
Tight yoga…

Endangered Species.
By
L.M.Robbins.
My tattooed chest laments your head,
Your heart and scent,
From the love you spread.
There have been others,
That have shared my skin,
But none have breached,
The old heart within.
I miss those nails that raked my back,
Scoring welts of red lines;
Like bloody rail tracks.
I miss those cursing lips,
That flicking tongue,
Baby doll nightdress,
And silken thongs.
You…

Votive Offerings.
By L.M.Robbins.
"God is great!”
Those that heard are dead.
Holiness and whole people
Won’t be found:
Blackened, bloody, body bits,
Seed Godless, weeping land.

Seasons.
By
L.M.Robbins.
Holding on, on.
Staying put, straining.
When the need to let go,
Had let go, since?
You can't remember.
Maybe when you were a Spring hare?
Doesn't matter anymore.
You're now a fox in dreary November.

Delhi-hot it had been,
My summer of love in 2016.
My heart, I gave to a rajkumari;
Royal,radiant,a jewel in her saree.

Last Chance Has Gone.
By
L.M.Robbins.
Take that look off your face.
Go and hang it outside the door.
No more the wimpish sarcasm,
No more the bitter tongue.
This heart is not accepting
of your excuses,
After wrongs.
The cheapest chocolates,
Or the wilted flowers,
They don't work anymore.
So take that liars face
and leave.
Never again knock on my door.

You Make Me Feel.
By
L.M.Robbins.
Will you wear that dress?
And those heels?
With that look on your face,
That's your sex appeal.
I love to be seen with you.
To see envy in better looking guys,
Than I.
Though you don't look their way,
You squeeze my hand.
Then say your mine.
I watch you get ready,
In a haze, amazed were together.
And pray to god for you now,
And hopefully forever.

Little Eddie.
The boy in the trolley
metronomically rocked,
didn't appear to care.
Shoppers stare
share silent gasps.
Thanking God
he isn't
theirs.

You're far too shallow.

Tattooed arms,
Told many a story.
Of mum 'n' dad,
And wartime glory.
Also loss of friends
and family,
Then in black ink;
I love Emily.
My personal favourite that I've wrote.

Calories Kill.
Fat girl in the corner
eating cake.
Doesn't want,
but can't resist.
Sheds a tear,
Makes a fist,
Wields relief,
Slits a
Wrist.

Bitter Drink.
This cup o’ tea,
I could choke on it.
May as well be a cup
O’ sand.
For what you ask me
To swallow, I can’t.
As I’ll never understand.

Looking Class.
By
L.M.Robbins.
Just a glance.
Chance granting favour and grace,
Today I witnessed eternal beauty,
The beauty of your face.
A countenance with no superior to compare.
Tis why travellers on foot or by vehicle,
Blessed by your vision,
Stop and Stare.
Some of them want more when nothing is offered.
Not implied nor certainly not ventured.
Myself and the voyeur,
Shackled by your beauty,
That…
