Made in India
1. What influenced you to write, and especially to pen down your debut - Via Delhi?
The hypocrite Indian Society better known to us as “Char log kya kahenge?” Someone had to come forward and mock them, so I did that. Where else could I use my wicked sense of humor? Hence, Via Delhi was born.
2. How would you describe Via Delhi to someone who has not read it yet?
“Would you like to bet on something?” I ask them.
“What?” they reply in chorus.
“I bet that once you pick up my book, you won’t keep it down till you’re done reading the last page,” I said.
I win these bets most of them times, seriously!!!
3. What else do you want your readers to know? Consider here your likes and dislikes, your interests and hobbies, your favorite ways to unwind - whatever comes to mind.
I guess my life is an open book. At least I’ve tried my best to keep it that way. Be it relationships, my hobbies, and interest or any other thing. Nothing is personal in my life. Yeah but if you wanna know something then I used to be the lead vocalist for s desi rock band during my MBA days. I love singing and my latest area of interest is rapping. I am also a big time fitness freak and I love spending time in the gym. I guess everyone knows this, thanks to all the gym selfies. And I hate two faced hypocrite people.
4. How much research do you do?
Honestly, the research is ZERO. My heart gives me directions and I blindly follow it. It works for me.
5. Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
I do work on an outline whenever I am writing a novel but I am pretty much impromptu with my short stories.
6. Do you ever get writer's Block?
No clue what that is but I do get a stiff back every now and them. Signs of ageing.
7. Where do you see publishing going in the future?
Publishing has now reached a point where my manuscript got short listed by one of India’s biggest traditional publication house and they indirectly demanded Rs 1,50,000 to publish my book. This is exactly where the publishing industry is going.
8. What's your views on social media for marketing?
A GIFT! The best platform for marketing. I guess I am what I am today because of my readers and Mark Zuckerberg.
