1. When did you find yourself in the world of words?
Way back in 2006, when my daughter was a little girl, I had to continuously weave stories. To celebrate her 5 years birthday I compiled those stories and published a children’s story book, “Stories from Fantasyland”. That was my first friendship with the world of words.
2.What do you think about the newly emerged genre,“Micro-Fiction”?
The newly emerged genre “Micro-Fiction” is quite fascinating. A tiny incident or a moment can be memorable. It can change a person’s perspective, her thought process, her life. So such a moment when depicted in a very short story will have the same or maybe more impact than a long novel. In a society where most people are terribly busy with their work and have no time to read story books, people may be motivated to read such micro-fictions. Children who are averse to reading story books are lazy to read long stories so they may develop the interest of reading when given micro-fictions.
3. How do you see social media?
I see social media as a very useful platform for interaction and getting to know new ideas and views. This media should although be used maturely.
4. Tell us about your book/books.
My first book,” Stories from Fantasyland” is a group of stories for young children. Most of the stories have morals in them and show how good rules over the evil and some are for sheer pleasure of kids. My second book which is my first poetry compilation, “Life- A Collection of Poems” has poems depicting reflections of different situations faced by me. My next poetry book,
“The Maverick’s Journey” talks about travels and the journey of an ordinary human being to a superior level. “Paradigm” another of my poetry book has poems reflecting examples of good and bad situations, of genuine and artificial people.
5. A message for the writer’s community...
We have a weapon in our hand which is mightier than the sword, yes ....the pen. So we should use our writings to inspire and motivate people, to make people happy and to show them a beautiful pathway of life.
